Our School Day

Dear Parents and Carers,

At South Bank Primary School, we aim to provide a well-structured and nurturing environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. To help you support your child’s daily routine, here is an overview of our school day:

Start of the Day:

• The school gates open at 8.30am, and pupils are welcomed into class from 8.35am.
• Registration begins promptly at 8.40am, so please ensure your child arrives on time to start the day smoothly.

Morning Sessions:

• Lessons start after registration and include a mix of core subjects such as English, Maths, and other curriculum areas.
• We incorporate regular breaks to help pupils stay focused and refreshed.

Lunch Time:

• We have three different lunch sittings dependant on which class your child is in.
• Pupils can enjoy a healthy, balanced meal in the dining hall or bring a packed lunch from home.
• Lunchtime is also an opportunity for socialising and outdoor play.

Afternoon Sessions:

• The afternoon includes a variety of lessons, including foundation subjects, creative arts, and physical education.
• We also focus on personal development and wellbeing throughout the day.

End of the Day:

• The school day finishes at 3.15am.
• Pupils are dismissed from their classroom pods or designated collection points.
• Please inform the school if someone different will be collecting your child.  We will request that a password is set up.
• Pupils from Y3 are able to be home walkers providing you give consent and this is recorded on our system.

 The total hours provided in a typical week is 32.5.

Time	Start of School Day Information
8.35am	Both school gates open
8.40am	POD doors open - Official start of the school day
8.45am	POD doors close
8.45am	Children arriving after 8.45am will be classed as late and need be taken to reception to signed in.

 

Time	End of School Day Information
3.10pm	Both school gates open
3.15pm	POD doors open.  Home walkers released - Official end of the school day
3.20pm	POD doors closed
3.20pm	Children not collected will be taken to reception.  When you collect your child please sign them out.
