  • Unplanned School Closure and Remote Learning

    Why Do We Use Remote Education?

    Remote education was initially implemented as a response to the national lockdown during the pandemic however, we have recognised the benefits of providing education for pupils who can not attend school.

    Attendance within our school is our main priority. However, we do recognise that there are times a pupil can not attend school but can continue to access education. These instances will be identified through discussions with the Head Teacher, SENDCo, family and external agencies (where appropriate).

    The use of remote education will be a time-limited agreed strategy to ensure education continues in challenging circumstances.

    What do we teach?

    We aim to deliver as much of the curriculum as possible through remote education. Through a variety of platforms and home learning packs, we will do our upmost to ensure your child receives a curriculum inline with the in-school offer.

    How do we teach it?

    This very much depends on the circumstances and will be agreed with you through your meeting with professionals.

    We can use one or more of the following;

    * Zoom

    * Telephone teaching

    * Purple Mash

    * Reading Plus

    * Times Table Rockstars

    * Paper based learning packs

    What should I do if I don't have the technology?

    If you do not have access to technology, we will be able to support you with this in the short term. Please ensure you have informed our attendance officer and we arrange necessary support.
